Python Developer / Data Scientist - Remote or Berlin based

Our Climate ERP solution is trusted by leaders like Maersk, Nippon Express Europe (NX Group), and DMG MORI, streamlining corporate emission management and reduction. This funding allows us to expand and enhance our platform, integrating sustainability into business operations.

Your mission
You will play a pivotal role in building efficient data processing pipelines in order to turn data into actionable insights that drive business decisions, inform product development and accelerate the journey to a low-carbon economy.
Key responsibilities:
Data Processing Pipelines
• Build and deploy production-ready data processing pipelines (e.g. ETL pipelines) for processing large amounts of data with a diverse set of tools (e.g. Python, dbt, Dagster).
• Support in making data processing pipelines more efficient across the company.
Data Analysis & Insights
• Interpret data to generate insights that directly impact product and business strategies.
• Proactively identify opportunities to leverage internal and external data for deeper insights.
Code & Deployment
• Conceptualize diverse data projects including an architectural proposal.
• Write clean, production-level code and manage deployments in line with best practices.
Collaboration & Impact
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into impactful data projects and code.
• Ensure the delivery of robust and scalable solutions aligned with client needs.
What we’re looking for:
We encourage you to apply also if you don’t tick all boxes but think that you can meaningfully fulfill the mission and are keen on learning new skills and tools. The only must haves are the ability to write production ready Python code and experience in working with data.
Technical Expertise
• Advanced programming skills in Python with a focus on production ready code.
• Expertise in working with data, especially in creating data processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with orchestrating data pipelines via tools like Dagster, Airflow, Kubeflow or similar.
• Proficiency in working with a large amount of data and a focus on making data processing pipelines efficient is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience
• Proven experience as a Python Developer, Data Scientist, Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience in working with data is a must, experience in working with climate data and carbon emissions reporting is a plus.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related fields.
Soft Skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
• Fluency in English, German is a plus.
