Product Design Lead

We have recently secured €6.5 million in Series A funding, led by Kvanted and ENV, with contributions from NewAlpha Asset Management and several business angels. Our Climate ERP solution is trusted by leaders like Maersk, Nippon Express Europe (NX Group), and DMG MORI, streamlining corporate emission management and reduction. This funding allows us to expand and enhance our platform, integrating sustainability into business operations.

Your mission
You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform, influencing design strategy, and driving innovative solutions that make a tangible impact on climate change.
Key responsibilities:
Design Strategy:
- Design vision: Collaborate with the Product managers and founders to establish a compelling design vision that aligns with the overall product strategy. Advocate for a design-centric culture across the company.
- Design strategy: Develop and document a design strategy for different product domains, ensuring a cohesive and consistent user experience across all modules.
- Design principles: Define and maintain design standards and principles that reflect the company’s mission and product vision.
- Design system: Develop and maintain a design system that ensures a cohesive and scalable user experience across all product modules.
Product Design and Development:
- User experience: Champion user-centric design by deeply understanding customer needs, conducting user research, and translating insights into engaging user experiences.
- Design process: Set and evolve the product design process, including user research, prototyping, wireframing, interaction design, and visual design.
- Product discovery: Partner with product managers to facilitate product discovery, focusing on solving user pain points through design thinking and iterative prototyping.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure alignment on design priorities and facilitate a collaborative design-development process.
- Customer feedback: Incorporate customer feedback into design iterations, collaborating with the product team to refine and enhance the user experience.
Team development:
- Career development: Mentor and guide designers to grow their skills, offering feedback, setting development goals, and providing opportunities for career progression.
- Recruitment: Lead the hiring process for the design team, ensuring the recruitment of top design talent. Continuously improve onboarding and design team processes.
- Design culture: Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and design excellence within the product team, encouraging experimentation and risk-taking.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience: 5+ years in a product design role, with at least 1-2 years in a lead capacity in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Design expertise: Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centric design, creative problem-solving, and mastery of design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Suite).
- Technical understanding: Solid understanding of front-end technologies and how they impact design implementation.
- Team leadership: Proven experience mentoring designers and driving a collaborative, innovative design culture.
- Market insight: Experience working in relevant industries (e.g., Logistics, Manufacturing) or with climate-related products is a big plus.
- Communication: Fluent in English with excellent communication skills; German is a plus.
