Technical Lead - Climate Tech

Join us in building the Climate ERP that's transforming how enterprises manage their carbon footprint

We're a Series A climate tech startup (€6.5M funding, 50+ team) with clients like Maersk, Zalando, and DMG MORI. We're looking for a Technical Lead to guide our new product squad in building scalable solutions that help companies reduce their environmental impact.

Location: This position is fully remote but must be based in one of our Hub locations in Berlin, Munich, Bonn/Cologne, Lisbon, London

Team: You'll lead 5 engineers in a cross-functional squad with a PM and Designer

The Role

You'll be the technical leader of one of our product squads, which is responsible for helping companies plan their decarbonization. You'd be owning the:

Technical Leadership (70%)

Own technical decisions and architecture for your squad's domain
Write production code alongside your team (we believe in hands-on leadership)
Conduct code reviews and maintain high engineering standards
Drive technical solutions using our stack: NestJS, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS

People Leadership (30%)

Manage and mentor 5 software engineers
Foster team growth through 1:1s and career development
Collaborate closely with your squad's PM and Designer (dotted line)
Report directly to our CTO

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

2+ years of technical leadership experience (tech lead, senior engineer with mentoring)
4+ years experience working in agile tech teams
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js (ideally NestJS), and React
Experience with PostgreSQL and AWS services
Track record of shipping production software in a team setting
Excellent communication skills in English

Nice-to-Haves:

Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software
Background in data-intensive applications or sustainability tech
Experience scaling systems for enterprise clients

Scaling carbon accounting calculations for enterprises processing millions of data points
Building real-time collaboration features for supply chain emissions tracking
Creating APIs that integrate with enterprise ERPs and data systems
Optimizing data pipelines for complex emission factor calculations
